Beatriz Garcia, 77, passed unexpectedly at home on May 18, 2021.
Born in Tolima, Colombia, she was a daughter of the late Jorge and Dolores (Urena) Garcia. She had worked many years for Hasbro of Central Falls.
Beatriz was a great chef and baker. She was instrumental in welcoming and helping the newly arrived in this country. She was proud of her Colombian Heritage.
She was a true definition of a matriarch, a powerful mother figure and the head of her family.
She is survived by her children, Juan Velez, Edgar Velez, Alvaro Velez, Trinidad Perez, and Natalia Velez, seven grandchildren, Eddie Velez, Luis Velez, Oscar Perez, Catalina Perez, Mariana Velez, Josiah Ramos and Jonah Ramos, siblings, Nelia Garcia, Clara Garcia, Fredy Garcia, Amparo Garcia, Adolfo Garcia, Lope Garcia, Juan Manuel Garcia, Soledad Benavides, and Cristina Mercado and many nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Luis Daniel Veles.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 23rd from 2pm until 5pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
